Carnies
I am so glad I did this shoot! Renae Morton, who owns R Squared Salon, and her husband Brannon of Hardcore Glamour Society, put together an amazing group of models, performers, and stylists to realize their carnival-inspired concept. The goal was to get one big group shot that will be a promo ad for a TBA fashion show in October. After a preliminary “Tea Party” shoot at R Squared (look for it later this week) involving melting cupcakes and fancy hats, we all met at Printers Alley in downtown Nashville to create this large-scale carnival set. The big group shot is still under wraps, but the solo shots I took for the performers are ready to be seen.
Big thanks to R Squared Salon, Brannon Morton, Datura Glamour and Couture, Amber Wilburn, Music City Burlesque, models Sulivan and Ashley, my awesome assistants Bernie and Beth, and everyone else involved. We pulled off a great shoot, and we all had a blast doing it!

Clowning Around
Dune is a local actor/model who needed some portfolio updates. We decided to do something conceptual, and settled on a sad clown character. Dune and I met at R Squared Salon on 17th Ave, where Amber Wilburn did the hair and makeup. She did a great job of capturing a subtle, but very sad clown face without using tons of greasepaint. Dune brought some clothes from the Goodwill and we headed out to shoot. Dune and Amber were both totally awesome, and I’ll definitely be working with them again.

One in A Million: Kristen and Jason
I am so glad I was asked to shoot the wedding of Kristen and Jason in Georgetown, OH on June 28, 2008. These two were awesome! They’ve been together since high school, which I find really sweet. The colors were black and white, and the florist (who is also Kristen’s aunt) used a lot of calla lilies in the decor. And one of the coolest parts? Jason’s groom cake was a Star Wars theme! So I leave you with this quote from Han: “Great shot, kid, that was one in a million!”

Nashville Bound: Erin’s Portrait Session
My friend Erin came in town from Louisville last week to do a fashion/boudoir portrait session, and we got some amazing images. Erin had her makeup done at the MAC counter in Rivergate Mall by the Makeup Doctor, and she styled herself. We shot on Vanderbilt campus as well as in my home. Erin is gorgeous! And I’m so glad these images portray her beauty.

Fun Loving: Molly and Ryan
On June 21st I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Molly and Ryan in Covington, KY. The formal pictures started out in Devou Park, which overlooks the Cincinnati skyline, and the wedding took place at a nearby church. The wedding party was a lot of fun to work with; I found myself laughing along with them throughout the day. The reception was beautifully decorated with white lights, and the aqua/tangerine color scheme was unique and fashionable. Congratulations!
