Midnight Frolic
Last fall I found a book on Amazon called Jazz Age Beauties: The Lost Collection of Ziegfeld Photographer Alfred Cheney Johnston and immediately added it to my wish list.
Lo and behold, I received this book for Christmas from my seriously awesome mother-in-law. I spent the entirety of Christmas day leafing through this book and gasping over the unbelievably gorgeous and classy photographs taken of the Ziegfeld Follies in the 1920’s. I started showing the book to others and getting a positive response. So in the vein of Pinned Up!, I decided to start offering twenties-style portraits. Since I work so frequently with Music City Burlesque, it was a natural second step to get them involved. Behold the beauty of Music City Burlesque, re-imagined as flappers from the Jazz Age.

Some hair and makeup by Eryk Datura and Cali DeVaney. Special thank you to Venus and Mars: The Showroom, Chuck Arlund, Lucy De Lovely, and models Lux, Lolly, Vera, Bella, Monique, and Frankie.

Hunter
These photographs are very special to me. Not only did I photograph Amanda and Drew’s wedding, but I also took Amanda’s maternity portraits in December. And now, baby Hunter has arrived! He was born on February 6, 2009 and weighed 7lbs 16oz. I went to see mother and child and took some beautiful photographs of them. Here are just a few. Congratulations!

MCB: Love Stinks
Music City Burlesque performed their Anti-Valentine’s Day show on February 6th at the Rutledge. Although the girls and I didn’t get a chance to take portraits before the show, I got some very cool performance photographs from the front row. La Photographie is always pleased to work with MCB; these ladies are the epitome of class, sass, and style.

R Squared Party
How much fun was this party??? We had a blast on February 7th at R Squared Salon on Music Row. Owners Brannon and Renae hosted a fantastic trunk show featuring designer Nicole Rae Styer from Philadelphia. La Photographie provided the Photo Booth Fun, and everyone enjoyed hamming it up for my camera. With free makeup styling and complimentary champagne, the attendees were ready for their close ups. I met a lot of great people in the photo booth. If you are one of the people who talked to me about doing a photoshoot, give me a call and we’ll set something up!

Trunk Show+Photobooth
Tomorrow I am joining R Squared Salon for a trunk show featuring Nicole Rae Styer, a designer from Philadelphia. I will be setting up a fun photobooth for you to come and have your pretty picture made for free. Come on down to R Squared tomorrow and ham it up with us!
