Hot Mama
I’ve worked with Crystal several times before, so when she wanted me to do her maternity portraits, I got really excited. Crystal, also known as Tequila Rose, doubles as a dancer and makeup artist with Music City Burlesque. She and her boyfriend came to my new studio to do these portraits and I just love the way they turned out. I can’t wait to meet their new little girl!

Hurrell-Inspired: Talvin
A couple of months ago, my friend Talvin mentioned that he was interested in doing some George Hurrell-inspired portraits. As a fan of Hurrell’s work, I became excited when we talked about his ideas. As the first official client in my new studio near downtown Nashville, Talvin was an amazing subject. I think we achieved his vision. The first picture is of his inspiration board.

Engaged! Liz & Mike
I met Liz through our mutual friend, and we hit it off instantly. When I met her and her fiance Mike at Percy Warner Park on a hot July afternoon, I could tell immediately that they are madly in love, which always makes for fantastic pictures. They’re getting married next year in the Virgin Islands, and I’m so happy for them!

So Sweet: Ryan & Jessica
Ryan and Jessica were so much fun to work with! They got married in Murfreesboro, TN on June 20, 2009. The church had some great areas for photographs, including some rolled hay and a cute playground. I very much enjoyed photographing them and their families and friends. Congratulations!

Country Charm: Lauren & Shane
After doing Lauren and Shane’s engagement portraits in April, I became really excited about their wedding. They were married on June 6, 2009 at a private home in Trousdale County. Lauren’s bridesmaids wore adorable short black dresses, while the bride shined in traditional white. Her accent color was pink, which I found to be classic and endearing. With a wedding party of almost 25 people, I certainly had my work cut out for me. Luckily they were a great group of people and we ended up with amazing shots.

Truvy’s Maternity Pin Ups
Truvy Trollop of Music City Burlesque is pregnant with her first child, a girl, and due in August. She had a lot of great ideas for her maternity session, and was game for my ideas too (which included a bathtub of milk, see below). We did the fun backyard baby pool scene, then sexy maternity pin ups, then the milk bath. I loved working with her and can’t wait to photograph baby Leela when she arrives!

Pinned Up! Angel
Angel was married a couple of weeks ago, and before her wedding she decided to do some classy boudoir photographs for her new husband as a gift. Not only did Angel have some great styling ideas (Bridget Bardot meets Kim Kardashian), but she also had access to Two Rivers Mansion for her photoshoot. She came to No Limits Salon for hair styling by Shana, and makeup by Eryk Datura. Then we went to the mansion to take what turned out to be some fabulous photographs. I did the wardrobe styling with some pieces from Venus and Mars, my personal collection, and Angel’s favorite dresses. Not only was Angel a fantastic subject, but she’s become a friend as well, which I am pleased to say happens more and more frequently as I work with people with whom I have a lot in common. Enjoy!

Family Affair: Annie & Edward
Annie and Edward were married at the Hancock House Bed and Breakfast in Gallatin, TN on May 2, 2009. With less than 10 family members as the guests, their wedding was small and intimate with lots of happiness. Annie’s son gave her away, and they practiced a sand mixing ceremony that was very touching. Congratulations!

Bonnaroo Madness!
Regular readers of my blog know that I love working with Music City Burlesque. So when Miss Lolly Pop asked me to come to Bonnaroo with her burlesque troupe as their official photographer, I jumped at the chance! We stayed on site in Manchester for 5 days and 5 nights, through the rain and thunder, tornado warnings, humidity, and the hot, hot heat. Our awesome campsite was located right in Centeroo, behind the Sonic Stage.
I spent those 5 days photographing the dancers of Miss Lolly Pop’s Burlesque Coterie, who are all members of Music City Burlesque, including Miss Lolly Pop and Larry the Panty Boy, Diletta Delight, Bella De Ball, Monique Honeybush, Kicky La Rue, Miss Kitty Lee, Leela Sophina Queen of the Air, and Vera Va Voom. We had so much fun running around Bonnaroo, them in feathers and sequins, me with my trusty camera capturing every moment. Here are some of the best pictures from Bonnaroo!
