Chris and Katrina’s Rock n’ Roll Wedding

October is such a lovely month for weddings here in Nashville and the weather gods made no exception for Chris and Katrina, who got hitched two weeks ago on a sublimely gorgeous day! Between the classic cars and hot rods greeting you at the entrance to The Cannery Ballroom, the rockin’ bands playing the reception, these two put on a one-of-a-kind party surrounded by the love of their friends and family.

Here’s a little preview to whet your appetite and stay tuned for the full blog post!

When Lindsey of DandyLion Events in Nashville, TN contacted me about doing an alternative bridal portrait session to promote her business, I was definitely game! In addition to wedding planning and coordinating, Lindsey works at Katy K’s Ranch Dressing part-time, and was able to find a fabulous Hellbunny dress that looks great as a black wedding dress. Lalie was our tough girl model, Eryk Datura did her makeup, Shana Michelle Taylor of No Limits Salon did her hair. Lindsey brought along the white rose bouquet, the engagement/wedding ring, and two different veils. We shot in downtown Nashville at dusk, and these are the wonderful results. Thanks to the whole team, and to my intern Savannah, for making it all come together!

Honky Tonkin’: Max & Michelle

As a photographer, sometimes I get the best opportunities. Max and Michelle’s wedding was one of those occasions: a chance to photograph a non-traditional wedding with tons of personality and lots of spontaneity. Max and Michelle were supposed to get married on the Pedestrian Bridge downtown, but as those of you in Nashville know, Friday May 1st was a very wet day. I met Michelle at Union Station Hotel to photograph her getting ready; their wedding ended up taking place at a friend’s home in East Nashville, which made for a very intimate ceremony and reception. Max, Michelle, and I will be reuniting for a special post-wedding portrait session on the Pedestrian Bridge… as soon as the weather is promising!

Wild Things: Trisha and Wes

Trisha and Wes’s wedding was rockin! They are one of the funnest couples I’ve photographed, and their style is unbeatable. With the colorful palette, non-traditional and touching ceremony, and big party reception, these two lovebirds really know how to have a good time.
