Chris and Katrina’s Rock n’ Roll Wedding

October is such a lovely month for weddings here in Nashville and the weather gods made no exception for Chris and Katrina, who got hitched two weeks ago on a sublimely gorgeous day! Between the classic cars and hot rods greeting you at the entrance to The Cannery Ballroom, the rockin’ bands playing the reception, these two put on a one-of-a-kind party surrounded by the love of their friends and family.

Here’s a little preview to whet your appetite and stay tuned for the full blog post!

Sweet Love: Dana & Matt | Nashville Wedding Photographer

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is when a treasured client hires me again and again. That is the case with Dana, who is one of the sweetest, most beautiful women I’ve ever met. When she introduced me to Matt for the first time, I could feel the chemistry between them, and I’ve had the pleasure of photographing their engagement session and their wedding.

Dana & Matt were married on March 3 at Cellar One in downtown Nashville. With a chill in the air and a cloudless sky, Dana & Matt made promises to one another with their friends and family witnessing. It was a special honor to capture these moments for them. After the ceremony, we took a short limo ride to get some amazing bridal party and couple shots at Vanderbilt University. Then we went back to Cellar One for a rocking reception.

Congrats Dana & Matt, and thank you for including me in your wedding day.
Also, a very special thanks to Vickie, for always being the best assistant.

Angel & Cole: Day After | Nashville Wedding Photographer

I first met Angel when she hired me to do her pre-wedding Pinned Up glamour portraits, and we became fast friends. Her wedding, which was this past June, went beautifully, but Angel didn’t feel that she looked her best in the photographs, so she decided to do another portrait session with her husband and mom. We picked the perfect fall day to go out to the Bicentennial Mall in Nashville to take their photographs. With hair by the amazing Shana at No Limits Salon and makeup by the flawless Eryk Datura, we produced the glam wedding session!

Blast from the Past: April & Will | Tennessee Wedding Photography

April and Will were married on October 17, 2009 at Brentwood United Methodist Church; the reception was held at the Embassy Suites in Franklin, TN. This wedding was very special to me, as I have known April since we were toddlers. We grew up together, and went to high school together as well. Although we lost touch for several years, I was so pleased to speak with April about her wedding photography. I couldn’t be happier with these photographs, and it makes me feel great to know that I was there to photograph such a special day in her and Will’s lives. Congratulations!

True Blue: Cheryl & Chad | Nashville Wedding Photographer

Cheryl & Chad were married on October 10, 2009 at Brookmeade Congregational Church in Nashville, TN. Cheryl and Chad are both photographers, so I was doubly honored when they asked me to shoot their wedding. With a distinct non-traditional style and a focus on fun foodstuff, this wedding and reception was a blast to photograph. Congratulations!

So Sweet: Ryan & Jessica

Ryan and Jessica were so much fun to work with! They got married in Murfreesboro, TN on June 20, 2009. The church had some great areas for photographs, including some rolled hay and a cute playground. I very much enjoyed photographing them and their families and friends. Congratulations!

Country Charm: Lauren & Shane

After doing Lauren and Shane’s engagement portraits in April, I became really excited about their wedding. They were married on June 6, 2009 at a private home in Trousdale County. Lauren’s bridesmaids wore adorable short black dresses, while the bride shined in traditional white. Her accent color was pink, which I found to be classic and endearing. With a wedding party of almost 25 people, I certainly had my work cut out for me. Luckily they were a great group of people and we ended up with amazing shots.

Simply Splendid: Bryan & Heather

Bryan and Heather were married on May 23, 2009 at the Walking Horse Inn and Farms in Franklin, TN. The cloudy skies provided a stunning backdrop for their outdoor portraits, while the turquoise and white color scheme pulled all of the elements together. I had a great time photographing them with their families and loved ones. Congratulations!

All Smiles: Danny & Jacqui

I had so much fun photographing Danny and Jacqui’s wedding on May 9th. Held in their beautiful Nolensville home, the wedding was intimate and full of personality. Jacqui’s purple dress was beautiful on her, and everyone from her lovely daughters to the family dog was involved in the festivities. I am so pleased at the number of great images from this wedding, so this post will be a bit longer than usual. Congratulations!

Honky Tonkin’: Max & Michelle

As a photographer, sometimes I get the best opportunities. Max and Michelle’s wedding was one of those occasions: a chance to photograph a non-traditional wedding with tons of personality and lots of spontaneity. Max and Michelle were supposed to get married on the Pedestrian Bridge downtown, but as those of you in Nashville know, Friday May 1st was a very wet day. I met Michelle at Union Station Hotel to photograph her getting ready; their wedding ended up taking place at a friend’s home in East Nashville, which made for a very intimate ceremony and reception. Max, Michelle, and I will be reuniting for a special post-wedding portrait session on the Pedestrian Bridge… as soon as the weather is promising!

Instant Karma: Andy & Marie

Sometimes I am lucky enough to make true friends with people who hire me for photography. Andy and Marie certainly fall into that category. We instantly hit it off, and I had a great time photographing their wedding on April 25 at Cannonsburg in Murfreesboro. Here are the highlights.

La Photographie Wedding Featured in Tennessean

I am so excited! The Tennessean has featured another of my weddings in their Sunday Lifestyles paper and on their web site. The first was published at the end of December with my couple Trisha and Wes, and the second one features Brook and Chris, whose wedding I photographed in September of last year. Here is the screen shot:

Many-Splendored: Kristen and Matt

Kristen and Matt were married at Traveler’s Rest Plantation on September 27, 2008. Their event, planned by Corrine Reese of Weddings With Reese, was colorful with classic accents. The flowers were created by The Enchanted Florist, and the cake was made by a friend of the bride’s. This small wedding was an intimate evening full of love, dancing, and memory-making. Congratulations you two!

Dreams Come True: Brook and Chris

Brook and Chris were married on Saturday September 6th at Oaklands Mansion in Murfreesboro, TN. This wedding was such a pleasure to photograph. The families and friends of the couple were so nice and accommodating, and the wedding party was a blast! There were a lot of great places for portraits at Oakland, so there is no shortage of gorgeous pictures. After all the guests had departed, Brook and Chris joined me and my assistant Bernie for some sunset portraits, and those turned out to be my favorites. Congratulations Brook and Chris!

Made in the Shade: Amanda and Drew

Amanda and Drew were married on Saturday, August 9th, and their wedding was simple, stylish, and full of sweet moments. Lucky for everyone, Saturday provided a break of the Tennessee August sauna, so we weren’t all sweaty or hot. The weather was really perfect. I loved Amanda’s 60’s style wedding dress and blusher veil. The color scheme was very clean and classy with blues, whites, and browns. Both ceremony and reception were held outside of St. Patrick’s in Smyrna. Congratulations you two!

Wild Things: Trisha and Wes

Trisha and Wes’s wedding was rockin! They are one of the funnest couples I’ve photographed, and their style is unbeatable. With the colorful palette, non-traditional and touching ceremony, and big party reception, these two lovebirds really know how to have a good time.
