Nashville Scene Photography Contest Winner

I am very excited to announce that one of my photographs has won the Judges’ Prize and Readers’ Choice prizes in the 2011 Nashville Scene Photo Contest. You can read about it here: The Nashville Scene
The photo that won is of my friend Lux-O-Matic from Music City Burlesque. She was pregnant with her daughter Olivia, and we had a blowout maternity session at the studio. Here are the rest of the photographs from that session. I thought this image was a stand-out, so I submitted it to the contest.

In 2010, I had the pleasure of photographing nine absolutely wonderful weddings. Each one meant something unique and different to me, and my lovely clients have all been excited and pleased about the images they received from their big day. To celebrate last year’s great moments, I am holding my 2nd annual Best Wedding Photo of the Year contest. Last year’s contest was very popular, ending in a landslide win for Katie & Nick.
RULES: vote for the picture you like best by leaving a comment below. Only ONE vote allowed per person, you MUST put your name and a valid email address when you comment. If the email address you provide is not valid, the vote will not count! The contest ends Friday January 21 at noon CST.

Open House: Success!
Thank you so much to everyone who helped make my first Open House a success! More than 50 people came to La Photographie Studios Friday night to help me celebrate the redesign and reopening of my new studio space! I’ve worked so hard over the last several months to make this space my own; to ensure that it reflects who I am as a person and as a photographer. Having so many people come support this great day was humbling. A special thank you to Beth, Savannah, Eryk, Michelle, and Lindsey for all of your help, and to the other photographers who came by and took pictures. I can’t wait to see the other photographs!

I am so pleased with the turnout and results from my first open house, Peek & Boo. La Photographie offered free children’s portraits to kids in costume last Friday, October 30, and here are some of the best shots. Midnight Frolic Showcase
I am so excited to announce my first showcase. My 1920’s project, based on photographs of the Ziegfeld Follies, will premiere at Venus and Mars: The Showroom on Friday May 8, 2009. The project is called Midnight Frolic and it features dancers from Music City Burlesque. The ladies will be making an appearance at the event, which starts at 7pm. See you there!
